The Anatomy of the human mouth:
Enamel:
This is the hardest part of the tooth and it is white. It is made up of calcium phosphate which is a very hard mineral.
Dentin:
Located underneath the enamel. It is composed of living cells which secrete a hard mineral substance.
Pulp:
One of the softest parts of the tooth. In addition, the nerves and blood vessels run through the pulp.
Periodontal ligament:
It is a type of tissue that holds the teeth against the jaw in the proper manner.
Cementum:
It is a piece of connective tissue that connects the roots of the teeth to the jawbone and the gums.
Crown:
The top part of the tooth.
Root:
The root goes below the gum line and the jaw.
Molars:
These are the flat teeth in the back of the mouth and are essential for grinding food.

Canines:
They are the pointed teeth and they are right outside of the incisors.

Incisors:
The incisors are the four middle teeth on the upper and lower jaws.

Wisdom Teeth (also called third molars):
The wisdom teeth erupt from the gums around the age of 18 and they are located in the last molar.
